50 caliber smoothbore, 6" octagon barrels. The locks are each marked "Sml Evans" and the barrels are unmarked. These pistols are in very fine condition and feature fine relief scroll engraving on locks with slightly more bold relief scroll on triggerguard and barrel tang. The silver forend caps bear a lovely sunburst pattern on either side. The barrels retain 90% original twist pattern which has very good contrast. The locks retain 95% original case color and feature sliding safeties. The checkered walnut stocks rate excellent with vertually all of their original finish and crisp checkering. Stocks feature silver wedge escutcheons, silver wrist escutcheons and the previously mentioned silver foret tip. Both pistols come with their original brass tipped ramrods. Pistols come in their original mahogany casing with powder flask, dipper, mould and cleaning rod. The original ladel inside reads "Saml Evens / Gun Maker / Cambridge / Powder Shot and Flints / with every Article requisite for / Sportsmen / Guns and Pistols Repaired". The condition of the case is very good plus to excellent, the key hole escutcheon is a replacement.
