Long Bio :	<p>Boston born artist George Loring Brown decided on a career as an artist while still in his teens. Initially he apprenticed to American wood engraver Abel Bowen before pursuing more formalized training in Europe. He studied in Paris with Eugene Isabey and was greatly influenced by the work of Lorrain, Ruysdael, and Constable. </p><p> After returning to America briefly, Brown emigrated to europe in 1859 where he would study and paint in Rome for the next 20 years. His romantic views of Venice and Naples, noted for their precise brush strokes and fine atmospheric effects are considered to be some of the finest of his output. </p><p> George Loring Brown came home to this country in 1860 settling again in boston where he would spend the remainder of his life as a land and seascape painter. He continued to paint scenic views of Italy which remained popular throughout his career and earned him the reputation as one of the foremost artists of his time.</p>
