Artists Management
Born an American, the artist who would create his own identity of being cosmopolitan French Post-Impressionist Andre Gisson was born Anders Gittelson in Westport, Connecticut in 1921. He studied early and often, and while struggling in New York City, decided to become more worldly with his creation of an imagined French art background. As was befitting an international artist, he did travel extensively to Europe and the Far East and was educated under some of the finest art traditions, from which he built his own styling.
It is recorded that Gisson felt that the role of the artist is to express his or her personally felt sensations and visually translate the experiences. Memories of people and places become symbolic presence in hsi works, not of a specific time nor place, but of universe concept and appeal.
