Pistol, 14¼ inches long.
50 Caliber, 8 1/2 inch octagon ballels with rifled bores. These pistols are in excellent condition and superb quality. The locks each bear beautiful relief scroll engraving and are both engraved "J.R. COPPER". The barrels are unmarked except for Birmingham proofs on underside and have single gold bands and bolsters. The barrels retain most of their original brown finish and show vivid twist pattern for the entire length. The locks retain nearly all of their original case color with one being mellowed a little bit more then the other. The trigger guards are of iron, nicely engraved, and retain virtually all of their bright original blue. The silver buttcaps are engraved while the silver forend and wedge escutcheons are plain. Each wrist is adorned with a rectangular silver escutcheon engraved with a spread eagle clutching a wreath in its bill. Pistols are equiped with sights. The walnut stocks are checkered at grips and rate excellent with 97% original finish remaining. Pistols come in their original brass bound mahogany case which contains a flask, ebony handled nipple wrench, rosewood mallet / cleaning rod, round ball mold, wad cutter, and some cast bullets. The condition of the case is excellent externally and very good inside. One ramrod thimble is loose but present.
