Dated with silver hallmarks 1776, this fancy box-lock pistol is a handsome and eloquent weapon from yesterday. The silver wire scrollwork inlay on the wood stock grip catches the eye, and the engraved hammer cock and actions have the maker's last name and London location well marked. The 7 inch barrel is in three stages, with reinforces, and has a cannon-type barrel with the muzzle finish banded.
The smooth curved stock grip ends in a flourish on the butt cap, with a floral tang reaching up and a flower center to the silver cap. The smooth flint cock has some small markings, and has a double-stage safety lock to prevent a premature firing. Tower of London proof marks for a private owner complete the artistry of this pistol, that will once more be a prized possession.
Pistol Measures 12⅜ Inches Overall with a 7 Inch Barrel.
