The 16,950 ton, 560 foot Passenger Liner ASAMA MARU was built in 1929, followed the next year by her sister ship, TATSUTA MARU, for the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), or the Japanese Mail Steamship Company. Launched out of the Mitsubishi Shipyard at Nagasaki, they set the 1930 standard for luxurious Pacific Ocean travel.
This large dockyard model is quite the rare item, and needs to be evaluated in person to fully appreciate.
