<p>An impressive cased model of high quality, this model of the extreme clipper ship WESTWARD HO is by one of America's most renowned modern modeler-artisans, Ed Sims. WESTWARD HO was an 1852 extreme clipper which made two very fast passages to San Francisco, 100 days from Boston and New York.</p><p>Designed by famed clipper designer Donald McKay of Boston and built by Seccomb & Taylor of Boston the WESTWARD HO along with the ship Flying Cloud were among the fastest designed and built by their two companies, bringing great acclaim to all. Sims has expertly scaled and rigged this natural wood model which includes a glass and wood case. Many of Sims models are housed in the collections of museums, maritime institutions and the finest private collections.</p>
