In excellent condition, with very nice gold plated fittings. In it original case and matching table stand.
The SS BELLASCO was built by John I. Thornycroft & Co., Ltd at their Woolston Works in Southampton for the Dover Shipping Company, Hull in 1921.
The hull is built up in solid lifts, shaped, sanded, faired and painted with a dual red waterline, grey topsides, with veneer decks finished bright and with the plating and planking drawn in India ink. Detailed with numerous gold plated fittings, including: anchors, chocks, bollards, stanchions, anchor windlasses, cargo windlasses, ladders, cargo masts and booms rigged with turning blocks and tackle, built up bridge with bridge wings, running lights, binnacle, four boats rigged on davits, funnel with the Bell Line crest, ventilators, docking helm, propeller and other details. Displayed on four turned pedestals, with builder's and presentation plates, mounted on a plinth within a glazed, mahogany framed case.
