Q. Do you ship out of California or outside the U.S.?
A. Yes, we have shipped many items, large and small, to destinations worldwide.
Q. Do you have a place where I can see your items in person?
A. For over 41 years we operated a retail gallery on Mariner's Mile in Newport Beach, California. We closed this gallery in 2013 in order for the founder, Joe Vallejo, to close our public gallery and change his business model to one where we sell online, by appointment, at exhibitions and at various shows throughout the United States. Mr. Vallejo's passion for fine maritime art and antiques is as strong as ever and he continues to seek out the very best art and artifacts to offer his clients.
Today we have a warehouse showroom in Orange County, California where we show items by appointment. To make an appointment please email us at vallejogallery@earthlink.net or call (949)642-7945. If you are unable to visit and view an item in person, be assured that all of our paintings and artifacts that are purchased go out on final visual approval. Please contact us for more information.
Q: Do you purchase paintings or artifacts?
A. Yes! We are interested in maritime or marine themed art of the 17th, 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, primarily in oils, and maritime artifacts of the same era.
Q: How do I send you information on something I have to sell?
A. Email is the best way to contact us. Send a photo of the item(s) along with size information and any other details which are available. If you are sending photos of a painting please send photos of the front and back along with a close up of the signature if present.
Q. Do you do appraisals?
A. No. We do not offer appraisal services.
Q. Can you recommend someone that does appraisals?
A. Check your area for professional appraisal services, as it's usually better if an appraiser can see an object in person.
Q: I don't want to sell what I have- I just want to find out more about it, where I can get more information?
A. We get many requests like this every day and regret that we cannot answer each one. If you're able to do research online the internet offers a great deal of information- it's something we use continually. A great place to start is www.wikipedia.org. If you're not comfortable online, museums can be an excellent source of more information.
