These books, published in 1785, are the firsthand account of Captain James Cook, explorer of the Pacific Ocean, including the three second-edition volumes of his fateful third and final voyage over the Pacific Ocean and the large folio image book of the first edition works from the travels. The second edition differs very little from the first edition and has the same plates/engravings. Includes all 87 engraved plates that should be present in these volumes- 24 in the text and 63 in the atlas. The atlas also contains another set of the same 24 engravings present in the text editions. The atlas is always the cornerstone of these volumes including the famed engravings make the entire work so special.

One of the best titles in all of the history of exploratory literature, the title page reads: "Captain Cook. Voyage to the North Pacific Ocean for Making Discoveries in the Northern Hemisphere and to Determine the Position and Extent of the West Side of North America, its Distance from Asia and the Practicality of a Northern Passage to Europe."

A must have for any lover of Hawaii, the Age of Exploration and/or Captain Cook.
