A great carved captain's chair with excellent details and a nice patina. The ship carved into the chair's back is his Steam-Sail vessel in good relief. Other details include large shell motifs on the base with architectural design elements such as flourishes and columns. The chair is upholstered in tufted leather. It's very unusual to see a captain's chair with his own ship carved in the back. |
