A cased set of high quality, these flintlock dueling pistols are made even rarer with the inclusion of the pair of smaller .52 caliber pistols for each gentleman's "second", or associate who was present to observe and ensure the possible death-match met the standards of fair play. As it is, the presence of target sights on the larger weapons is a deviation from the "Dueling Code".

Engraved with "P. Bond", the signature mark of Phillip Bond, a renown gunsmith of Corn Hill, London from 1794 to 1816, the pistols come with English and London proof marks. The large barrels measure 8¼ inches while the smaller flintlock barrels measure 2¾ inches.

The English-walnut case includes the complete set of tools such as the two-blade screwdriver, bullets molds, cleaning rod, and an unusual dual-compartment powder flask which holds a few of the lead bullets as well. The case still has the original key and lock in working order, as are all the guns. A very unique and rare cased set of four pistols.
