A very rare combination, we have never had Inchesa marine chronometer with a visible escapement. This example is also a ship’s master clock which can be connected to other ships clocks as "slave" units which are then synchronized to the master. Inches Serial number 1008. The plaque reads, "M. Low Inc., Est 1830, New York, NY, #1008." Max Low was a New York clock maker who was known to make clocks for the US Government, particularly in wartime.
