A commemoration of the Battle of the Nile in an allegorical style- the combatants Lord Horatio Nelson on the British side and Commodore Aristide Aubert Du Petit Thouars for the French are depicted sitting over a map at a small table. A dark skinned man looks over the pair, perhaps representing the north African territory which the French were attempting to maintain. Mounted on a fabric covered base with stand.
