Still, the prominence of often attacked and rebuilt defenses of Castle San Nicola de Thoro-Plano rise on the center ridge to the west edge of the city. The connecting roads run up the "Dragon's Valley" to Ravello, or coastwise to Amalfi. These stretches of the Italian Riviera are widely recognized as some of the most beautiful and relaxing places in the world.
