The lid of the box features a pastoral river side scene. Inside there is excellent color work with shades of green and dark brown with additional pastoral motifs including a basket and garden tools on one side and a broad brimmed hat with flowers on the other. Inside are geometric patterns in bright red, green, dark brown and pale straw. A striking box.
