Stobart put a personalized dedication verso as well, to Phil Tozer of Newport Beach, a prominent business with ownership interests in the location portrayed: "To Phil, Wishing you Fair Winds and a Following Sea! With all best wishes, John Stobart, December 1988" which is written next to a smaller, different view of the Balboa Pavilion by the artist.
