7 inch porcelain face, 9 inches diameter overall

Circa 1870

With very rare top quality eight day fusee movement which is very rare in a ship’s clock. Fusee (chain driven) movements were used in official ship’s chronometers for navigation because of their greater accuracy. The movement makes this clock about three times as heavy as non-fusee ship’s clocks. With a nice porcelain face. Made by Whyte, Thomson & Co. of Glasgow.
