The Trans Pacific yacht race from California to Honolulu is a bi-annual event, starting in 1906. This particular trophy was won by the Burrapeg Yacht, owned by W.E. Candy, in 1934 in the category of Class B yachts (40-60 feet). The race still runs from San Pedro Light to Diamond Head Light, for a distance of 2225 nautical miles.
